Beautifull pair of classic glass pendant lights

Electricity: 1 bulb E27, 1 x 75 watt maximum, 110/220 volt.

Any type of light bulb can be used. But preferable a white/opaque or frosted one. Bright light bulbs cause streaks on the glass and therefore also on the walls.

Period: 1950s, 1960s – Mid-Century Modern.

Designer: Gino Vistsi

Manufacturer: Vistosi, Murano, Italy.

Incamiciato: overlay lattimo glass (= milky looking glass) with a layer of transparent coloured glass.

1 light has a small chip in the glass (2 mm max) see picture 4, rest is in perfecet original condition


Vistosi

Vistosi was created by Guglielmo Vistosi in Murano in 1945 focusing on lighting. After his premature death his sons Gino and Luciano, joined their uncle Oreste in the founding of the Vistosi company.

In 1956 Alessandro Pianon, a Venetian Architect, joined the company. Together with second generation Luciano and Gino Vistosi they gave a swing to the company focusing on innovation and design.

The company has employed some very relevant designers such as Angelo Mangiarotti, Gae Aulenti. Peter Pelzel, Ettore Sottsass Jr., Adalberto Dal Lago. Vico Magistretti, Enrico Tronconi and so on.


Alessandro Pianon

Alessandro Pianon was born in Venice, Italy in 1931. He studied architecture at the Venice University. In 1956 he worked at Vistosi, designing the company’s logo. In 1962 he opened his own design studio. Pianon died in Venice in 1984.

Alessandro Pianon designed this pendant lamp in 1956, it was made for many years. It was produced for several years. It is characteristic of Alessandro’s design vocabulary: simple, geometric shapes and monochrome colours.

None of these pendant lamps are identical and are all handmade. This lamp is an early production. The 1950s-1960s labels of Vistosi and Murano are present.

Packaging with care and love

Our usually irreplaceable items are often very fragile and must therefore be packaged and shipped with the special care they deserve! We only use shipping materials that are suitable for international shipping. Your object will be rolled in soft foam or bubble wrap and then packed in a well-fitting inner box. The whole is then placed in an extra sturdy cardboard outer box. The space around the inner box is filled with air cushions and/or Styrofoam to further secure your package against outside violence. In this way we try to do everything we can to prevent damage from occurring during transport so that you can enjoy your purchase as it was intended. Insurance

Your shipment is always insured as standard up to 500 euros. For more expensive lamps, I increase the insurance to the amount of the lamp. So if the package is lost or damaged during shipping, there is nothing to worry about. You will always receive a new product or you will be fully reimbursed for your purchase amount. Please read terms and conditions for the insurance!

Upon receipt, the damage must be reported within 7 days, otherwise we can no longer make a claim with the insurance (condition of PostNL). The insurance only pays out in the event of damage if it can be demonstrated that the item was properly packaged. In the event of damage, I will ask you for some photos of the packaging and of the product itself to demonstrate to the insurance company that the product was properly packaged. So please always keep the packaging until the photos have been sent. For parcels sent outside the EU, the insurance company also asks for a damage report. You should request this report from your post office. Damage Report: The consignee must bring the damaged contents, box and all packaging materials to the post office on site to have this report prepared. Unfortunately, your request cannot be processed without this report.
