very large Limburg pendant lights.
High quality, luxurious and great hand-blown hanging lamps from Limburg Glashütte design from the 1970s.
The hand-blown glass has small air bubbles, which gives a nice diffuse light effect and a beautiful pattern on the ceiling, walls and floor. The brass parts are nicely shaped and the inside has a mirror to diffuse the light. All this makes the lighting fixtures stand out from other glass globe lamps.
These lamps can be used for a room, a beautiful staircase or to decorate a corner of your home. The cables can be adjusted per sphere to adjust the desired height. Also possible for higher sealing. Please note that the price is for one lamp. They are sold as a pair, individually or as a set. In excellent condition.
All globes have been rewired to meet current safety standards. Since they are handmade globes, the smoked color may differ slightly per fixture. For detailed pictures you can always send me a message.
No information can be found unfortunately. Except for the lamps he designed for Glasshütte Limburg. 17 of them received an iF Design Award. Herbert Proft designed many beautiful lamps for the company. The lighting he designed that received an iF Design Award were all designed in the 70’s.
Three months after the end of the Second World War in August 1945, graduate engineer Dr. Walter Heinrich submitted his first plans for setting up a glass-works to the American military authorities in Limburg an der Lahn in Germany. Approval for building the factory was issued rapidly because the country urgently needed all types of glass. As a result, the ground was broken for Glashütte Limburg as early as 28 September 1945.
Due to the lack of power and the difficulty in obtaining materials during the immediate post-war period, construction was initially slow. However, on 12 May 1947 the glass-works finally held its first topping-out ceremony, and barely 2 months later, on 7 July 1947, Dr. Heinrich used the blowpipe to take the first glass melted in Limburg.
Attention to detail and to the customer
Because we sell objects worldwide, our service principle is to fit the correct plug to your lamp. Our lamps are standard equipped with a European (EU) plug. You can also choose to have an American (US) or an English (UK) plug fitted (free of charge). You can choose this option at the top of the product page in the dropdown menu “plug type”. If you do not make a choice, the lamp comes with an EU plug.
Packaging with care and love
Our usually irreplaceable items are often very fragile and must therefore be packaged and shipped with the special care they deserve! We only use shipping materials that are suitable for international shipping. Your object will be rolled in soft foam or bubble wrap and then packed in a well-fitting inner box. The whole is then placed in an extra sturdy cardboard outer box. The space around the inner box is filled with air cushions and/or Styrofoam to further secure your package against outside violence. In this way we try to do everything we can to prevent damage from occurring during transport so that you can enjoy your purchase as it was intended. Fast and Free Worldwide Shipping, all orders ship within 1-3 business days.
Your shipment is always insured as standard up to 500 euros. For more expensive lamps, I increase the insurance to the amount of the lamp. So if the package is lost or damaged during shipping, there is nothing to worry about. You will always receive a new product or you will be fully reimbursed for your purchase amount. Please read terms and conditions for the insurance!
Upon receipt, the damage must be reported within 7 days, otherwise we can no longer make a claim with the insurance (condition of PostNL). The insurance only pays out in the event of damage if it can be demonstrated that the item was properly packaged. In the event of damage, I will ask you for some photos of the packaging and of the product itself to demonstrate to the insurance company that the product was properly packaged. So please always keep the packaging until the photos have been sent. For parcels sent outside the EU, the insurance company also asks for a damage report. You should request this report from your post office. Damage Report: The consignee must bring the damaged contents, box and all packaging materials to the post office on site to have this report prepared. Unfortunately, your request cannot be processed without this report.
